Rihanna Joins All-Female Ocean’s Eleven Spin-Off

Rihanna has been cast in the all-female Ocean’s Eleven spin-off, Ocean’s Ocho, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She joins a cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, and the rapper Awkwafina. Directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games), Ocean’s Ocho begins production in New York this October. 

Rihanna will also appear in Luc Besson’s (The Fifth Element, Léon the Professional) upcoming film Valerian and as Marion Crane in the A&E drama “Bates Motel.”  Her new song “Sledgehammer” was made for the Star Trek sequel,  Star Trek: Beyond. Awkwafina recently appeared in the comedy film Neighbors 2, and was part of the documentary Bad Rap, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year.
