Rostam Batmanglij Makes Live Debut in New York

Earlier tonight, Rostam Batmanglij made his live debut, performing at McCarren Park in Brooklyn for Northside Festival. Deradoorian and Wes Miles of Ra Ra Riot joined him on stage. Accompanied by dancers and a string quartet, he performed new songs as well as cuts from Discovery‘s LP, marking the first time he and Miles have performed as Discovery. Rostam opened for Brian Wilson, who performed the entirety of Pet Sounds. Hinds played as well. In January, Batmanglij announced via Twitter that he was leaving Vampire Weekend. He’s shared a series of singles since refocusing on his solo career, including “EOS” and “Gravity Don’t Pull Me.” You can watch footage from his performance below.

Rostam & Wes perform as Discovery for the first time…7 summers after their album came out.
