Ryan Adams Enlists Bob Mould, Garry Shandling, Jeff Garlin in Weird Informercials

Ryan Adams‘ new, self-titled album is out tomorrow. To promote it, he’s shared a video in which actor Jeff Garlin (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) reveals something very upsetting to Garry Shandling (“The Garry Shandling Show”): Listening to the album is such an emotional experience, it killed his parakeet. What follows is a game of telephone in which Adams, who’s seen recording in the studio with Bob Mould, is basically instructed to stop killing parakeets with his incisive songwriting. (That’s producer Don Was doing the instructing from the shadows.) Check it out below. Update: Adams has also posted a second video, a parody of an old noir film, also starring Garlin, Shandling, and Was. This time, listening to the new Ryan Adams album turns you into a zombie. Watch that below, too.

Adams has also added a few shows to his upcoming tour. Full dates below. And he’ll appear on “Letterman” on September 11.
