Ryan Hemsworth Announces New Album Alone for the First Time, Shares “Snow in Newark” Video

Ryan Hemsworth has announced a new album, Alone for the First Time, out November 4 on Last Gang and his own Secret Songs imprint. This follows his 2013 debut Guilt Trips, and features collaborations with Alex G, Dawn Golden, Lontalius, Kotomi & DOSS, the GTW and Little Cloud.

The video for album cut “Snow in Newark”, featuring Dawn Golden, was shot over a week in Nepal with director Martin Pariseau. It was Hemsworth’s attempt to “get out of these clubs and find something different,” he said in a press release, calling the experience “a hiatus from necessary evils.” Watch it below.

Hemsworth also noted, “I’m trying things at a different pace; fighting with expectations and conventional formulas. It’s been a weird time for me, so ‘Snow in Newark’ and the rest of this album are my personal reactions to the current state of electronic and rock music.”

Hemsworth is also heading out on his “Sucker for Punishment” tour this fall. Dates below.
