RZA Launches Menswear Line 36 Chambers

Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, a longtime fashion aficionado, has stepped up with his own menswear line, 36 Chambers. The line, made in collaboration with Mustafa Shaikh, fuses “hip-hop, Chinese culture and high fashion,” according to a press release. Items include men’s jackets, shirts, bags, and accessories, as well as a women’s souvenir jacket. RZA said, “36 Chambers is inspired by the Wu philosophy: kung fu, mathematics, Eastern philosophy and art. Using that as a foundation, we’ve blended together the rugged feel of streetwear, with the quality craftsmanship of high fashion, to create apparel with a classic look.” The full set goes online November 18; popup events will open in December.

Meanwhile, RZA’s planned record deal with Azealia Banks is apparently off the cards. The backtrack relates to Banks’ assault allegations against Russell Crowe, according to TMZ, who report that Banks feels RZA didn’t defend her during the Beverly Hills dispute.
