Senator Declares Trumpcare “a Heist,” Just Like the Macklemore Album

Today, Washington Senator Maria Cantwell addressed the public during a joint press conference with other legislators, decrying the proposed American Health Care Act that is set to be voted on by Congress and namedropping none other than Macklemore, as Spin points out. “This is not a smart policy and will cause shift to the states, to pick up for the money that the federal government is no longer covering,” she said, speaking on the proposed healthcare bill that has been nicknamed Trumpcare. “I wish I could get a famous rapper from Seattle here, Mr. Macklemore, because this truly is a heist.” Cantwell is, of course, referencing Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ 2012 album The Heist.
