Sonic Youth Announce Bad Moon Rising Reissue

Last year, Sonic Youth - who are currently on indefinite hiatus – announced a refurbishment of their pre-Geffen, out-of-print catalog. They re-released their seminal album Daydream Nation (yes, again) on 2xLP and CD, followed shortly thereafter by The Whitey Albumtheir one-off as Ciccone Youth.

Now, the band have tapped 1985′s Bad Moon Rising for a similar treatment. It’s out on April 14 via the band’s own label on 2xLP and CD. In addition to the album and its bonus tracks, the repackaged Bad Moon Rising features the bonus tracks “Satan Is Boring” and”Echo Canyon,” plus both tracks from 1986′s “Flower”/”Halloween” 12-inch.

Remastered editions of Confusion Is SexEVOL, and Sister (all of which were previously reissued and currently out-of-print) are forthcoming. Sonic Youth are also plotting a reissue of the Screaming Fields of Sonic Love DVD, which collects the band’s pre-Geffen music videos plus bonus material.
