Sonic Youth Twitter Hacked

Over the past few days, several musicians’ Twitter feeds have been hacked. While several posts are merely asking for follows, other tweets have featured offensive messages, racial slurs, and bomb threats. Tonight, Sonic Youth‘s official Twitter account was hacked. The account name was changed to “Max Guerin.” At one point, they announced a surprise “reunion show” and plans for upcoming shows. Later, they tweeted “get cancer” at someone. Earlier today, the Daily Beast ran an interview with an anonymous person claiming to be behind some of the hacks. Find example tweets below.
