Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, More Perform at the Prince Tribute Concert: Watch

Earlier this year, Prince’s estate announced an official tribute concert in the icon’s honor. Tonight, musicians took the stage at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to pay their respects. Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan performed “1999” together. Chaka also performed “I Feel For You” (which was written by Prince) while Stevie played the harmonica.

Tyka Nelson, Prince’s sister, spoke at the tribute. Doug E. Fresh, and Bilal also performed. Watch footage of the show below. Christina Aguilera, Tori Kelly, and Anita Baker will also take the stage. John Mayer was originally billed for the show, but pulled out due to a “change in schedule.”

Last month, Prince’s band the Revolution reunited for a string of shows in Minneapolis. In August, it was announced that Prince’s famous Paisley Park estate would be converted into a museum. Many of the artists announced for the tribute concert performed tributes during this year’s BET Awards as well.
