Sufjan Stevens Unearths “Chicago” Demo for Illinois Reissue: Listen

On April 1, Sufjan Stevens will reissue 2005′s Illinois on vinyl with new cover art. Today, Asthmatic Kitty has announced that each copy of the reissue will come with a bonus: A demo version of Illinois track “Chicago” pressed onto a die-cut 12″ shaped like a star from the Chicago flag. The “Chicago” demo will be available to buy digitally from tomorrow. Due to a misprint, 2,000 copies of the “Chicago” demo star-shaped vinyl will be sold separately from the reissue, with the RPM incorrectly labelled as 45RPM. “The record plays best at 33RPM,” a press release notes.
