Suge Knight Claims His Human Rights Violated in Jail
Suge Knight contends his secluded treatment in jail violates his human rights, TMZ reports, citing legal documents filed by the former rap mogul. On January 29, a judge blocked the Death Row Records co-founder’s access to phone calls and visitors other than his attorneys, according to the Associated Press, which also cites court records. The order restricting Knight’s jail privileges came at the request of a sheriff’s investigator, the AP reports. Information about what led to the limit on Knight’s jail privileges is reportedly under seal.
In February 2015, Knight was charged with murder. Los Angeles county prosecutors accused him of killing one man and injuring another in a hit-and-run accident the prior month.
A judge previously blocked Knight’s access to non-attorney visitors in March 2015, according to the AP. The court then gradually began permitting visits from his family members and others. Knight could face life in prison if convicted.
