Swans Reissue Filth With Bonus Material

Swans have announced a deluxe CD reissue of Filth, their 1983 debut album. The 3xCD expanded edition will be out on May 26 in North America via Young God and internationally via Mute, and comprises music from 1982-85. (Last year, Filth was reissued on vinyl without bonus material.)

The first disc contains the Filth LP, along with live versions of “Strip/Burn”, “Heatsheet”, “Blackout”, “Clay Man”, “Stay Here”, and “Weakling”. The second contains Body to Body, Job to Job, a compilation of outtakes and live cuts culled from performances between 1982 and 1985, included on previous reissues of the album. The third disc contains #1, the band’s 1982 debut 12″ EP, as well as additional live performances. Check out the full tracklist here.

On Filth, the band’s lineup was Michael Gira, Norman Westberg, Roli Mosimann, Harry Crosby, and Jonathan Kane.

The reissue also comes with photos taken by Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo and photographer Catherine Ceresole.

Swans are on tour in Europe now, through the summer. Check out the dates below, and read our interview with Gira.
