Swans’ Thor Harris Back on Twitter, Was Suspended After Posting Nazi-Punching Tutorial

After posting the below instructional video on the best way to punch a Nazi, Thor Harris—frontman of Thor & Friends who has also played in Swans and Shearwater—was temporarily suspended from Twitter. Harris’ account has now been reinstated. “Who’dve thunk punching Nazis was a hot button issue,” he tweeted. “Thanks for the support y’all.”

In the video, which was preserved by Xiu Xiu and reposted from their account, Harris begins by urging viewers not to punch a Nazi—“or any other member of the Republican party”—saying that peaceful protest is preferable. “But if you have to do it,” he continues, “please get someone to film it.” He then explains the safest and most effective way to throw a punch with a full demonstration. That’s the video below. Pitchfork has reached out to Thor’s representatives for additional comment.
