Tame Impala, Bon Iver’s Twitter Accounts Hacked

Tame Impala, Bon Iver's Twitter Accounts Hacked

Tame Impala‘s typically standardized Twitter feed was hijacked by hackers on Sunday afternoon. After initially issuing tweets encouraging people to follow their personal social media accounts, the hackers then began tweeting plane bomb threats, tagging JetBlue Airways as well as Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. The tweets have since been deleted. Update (6/5, 5:35 p.m.): It appears that other artists’ Twitter accounts have been hacked, including Bon Iver and Keith Richards. Bon Iver’s handle @boniver was renamed ”@ihavelegcancer,” where racial slurs were tweeted at Stormzy and insensitive comments were made about the late Muhammad Ali. Those tweets have since been deleted. Find screenshots below.

Very sorry, everyone. We were hacked. Trying to fix the account now. Stand by. @twitter @Support

Earlier today Keith’s Twitter account was hacked along with other verified accounts. The hateful tweets that were posted have been removed.
