The KLF Are Back
The confrontational electronic pop project and performance art duo of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty, aka The KLF, the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, K Foundation, the Timelords, and 2K, are back in action after 23 years, the Quietus reports. They announced their return via a cryptic poster on a wall on a London street, promising the premiere of some kind of new work on August 23, 2017. The poster added, “the Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu have no interest in anything that seeks to comment on, bounce off, glorify, debunk or resurrect their historical work.”

Over the course of their career in the late 80s and early 90s, Drummond and Cauty released several groundbreaking albums, including 1990′s Chill Out, which landed at #5 on Pitchfork’s list of the 50 Best Ambient Albums of All Time. They scored huge hits like “3 A.M. Eternal,” “Justified & Ancient,” and “What Time Is Love?,” but were equally known for their elaborate and often shocking publicity stunts, which included burning a million British pounds on video and shooting blanks out of machine guns at the audience at the 1992 BRIT Awards.
