The Lonely Island Pay Tribute to Will Smith at the MTV Movie Awards: Watch

Last night, MTV hosted its annual Movie Awards, which saw Will Smith taking home this year’s Generation Award. To honor his legacy, the Lonely Island—the comedy trio of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone—did a tribute medley of Smith’s greatest hits: “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” the “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” theme, “Summertime,” the Men in Black theme, and “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” The group’s performance saw them “driving” a car-shaped cardboard cutout, busting moves with dancers dressed like “Fresh Prince” and Men in Black characters, and even breaking out their Neuralyzers.  Judging from his numerous reaction shots, it’s safe to assume Smith enjoyed the performance. Watch below.

Elsewhere during the MTV Movie Awards, Salt-n-Pepa did their classic single “Shoop,” featured on the Deadpool soundtrack. (Accordingly, the group were flanked by numerous backup dancers dressed up as the Marvel superhero.) Meanwhile, Ariana Grande performed her single “Dangerous Woman,” off her forthcoming album of the same name. Scroll down for footage.

The Lonely Island are currently gearing up to release their first feature film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, on June 3. They recently shared a pair of trailers for the Judd Apatow-produced movie, which also stars Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, and Joanna Newsom.
