The Magnetic Fields Announce Tour

The Magnetic Fields have announced a tour behind their forthcoming album 50 Song Memoir. The band will perform the massive new LP in its entirety across two nights at each of the venues they are performing at (25 songs one night, and the other 25 songs the next). Check out the full list of dates below, which includes warm-up shows this fall in Massachusetts and New York. According to an announcement from earlier this year, 50 Song Memoir features one song for every year Stephin Merritt has lived, including songs about “bedbugs, Buddhism, buggery, hippies, Hollywood, and hyperacusis.” The new album is due out next spring via Nonesuch. The Magnetic Fields’ last studio album, Love at the Bottom of the Sea, was released in 2012.
