The National Star as Music Teachers on "Comedy Bang! Bang!"

“Comedy Bang! Bang!” is an IFC show spun-off from the popular podcast, hosted by Scott Aukerman with bandleader Reggie Watts. In this week’s episode (airing on Friday at 11pm), The National star as themselves in a sketch where they’re brought in to be music teachers for an underfunded school’s newly renovated music department. (As the band’s Bryce Dessner puts it, “Music education is important to our country on a national level.”) But there’s a twist, of course, and things go to a weird place. Watch it here.

The Flaming Lips, the Lonely Island, Future Islands, “Weird Al” Yankovic, and the Vandals are also scheduled to appear on this season of the show.
