The White Stripes “Disgusted” by Donald Trump “Seven Nation Army” Video

The White Stripes have posted on their Facebook page denouncing the use of their song “Seven Nation Army,” from their 2003 album Elephant, in a pro-Donald Trump video. Jack and Meg write that “the White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video,” adding, “They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song.”

It is not clear what video the Stripes are referring to, exactly. Earlier this summer, a fan-made video surfaced featuring Trump imagery and audio of his speech at the Republican convention, set to “Seven Nation Army,” but it was not made by the Trump campaign. Jack White/The White Stripes’ manager Ian Montone only had this to offer: “If you can’t find the video, great. Then our lawyers have done their job.”

Many musicians have opposed Trump’s use of their music during his campaign. Most notably, Neil Young told Trump “fuck you” for using “Rockin’ in the Free World.”
