Tim Hecker recently announced his new album Love Streams, out April 8 via 4AD (Paper Bag in Canada). Today, he’s shared the first track from the album, “Castrati Stack.” Check it out below, along with a visual by Brett Stabler.

In addition to “Castrati Stack,” Hecker has added more tour dates. Check those out below.

Love Streams features Kara-Lis Coverdale and Grímur Helgason, the same collaborators who worked on Hecker’s 2013 album Virgins, plus the Icelandic Choir Ensemble. The vocal arrangements were scored by Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. The album’s sessions took place throughout the past two years at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavík, Iceland.

In a statement, Hecker said Love Streams was created while he mulled over ideas like “liturgical aesthetics after Yeezus” and the “transcendental voice in the age of Auto-Tune.”
