Tim Heidecker (Tim & Eric) Plots Trump’s Murder in New Song “Trump’s Pilot”

The “30 Days, 50 Songs” campaign (expanded from “30 Days, 30 Songs”) against Donald Trump is now on its 45th song decrying the Republican presidential candidate. It’s a new song by Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric) called “Trump’s Pilot.” Heidecker sings from the perspective of Trump’s private pilot, who details his plans to intentionally crash Trump’s plane in a field somewhere. A demo was released as a SoundCloud loosie in April, but the studio version is now commercially available. Listen and find the lyrics below.

“My humor tends to skew dark, so I imagined a kamikaze style situation, where the pilot sacrifices himself for the sake of the country,” Heidecker said of the song. “I’ve performed it live a few times, and let me tell you: there’s a real cathartic satisfaction in singing the last few lines, and I always choke up a bit.”

It isn’t the first time Heidecker has written a song about politics; he praised former Republican candidate Herman Cain as “the second coming” in his song “Lord Cain.” More recently, he weighed in on Bob Dylan’s Nobel Prize win—in character as Dylan—with a new song called “Talkin’ Nobel Prize.” This year, he released his new album In Glendale.

“Trump’s Pilot” joins a pile of anti-Trump songs that have surfaced this year, including tracks by Kristin Kontrol, Sun Kil Moon & Jesu, Filthy Friends (group featuring members of R.E.M. & Sleater-Kinney), “Weird Al” Yankovic, and EL VY.

I am Donald Trump’s private pilot
I fly him everywhere
taxi him to his outdoor rallies
where he gives all of you a scare

I’ve set up a fund for my children
you can donate to it online
cause when I’m gone
they should be protected
blaming them would be over the line

for when we take off for Cleveland
and clear the tri-state sprawl
I will find a field and I will take her down
screaming justice for you all
screaming justice for you all
