Tom Waits, Lorde Judging Songwriting Competition

The 2016 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) has announced its panel of judges. The roster includes Tom Waits, Lorde, Chris Cornell, Ziggy Marley, the Dixie Chicks’ Martie Maguire, Bastille, Vijay Iyer, the Civil Wars’ Joy Williams, Fat Joe, Femi Kuti, Devo’s Gerald Casale, Donovon, India Arie, Kaskade, and more, along with several music industry executives. The ISC is an annual contest that aims to “provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena.” The grand prize winner receives $25,000, nine days of recording time at Dark Horse Recording Studios, a custom acoustic guitar, and other prizes. The competition is now accepting applicants.
