Travis Peterson, the L.A. filmmaker who directed videos for Ariel Pink, Glass Candy, Nite Jewel, and more, has been found dead, LA Weekly reports. Peterson, who was 40, went missing on December 29. His body was found Friday night in a car on Foothills Boulevard, near the gas station where he was last seen. Julia Holter, with whom he collaborated, paid tribute. See her tweets below, as well as a message from Peterson’s wife, Emilie Halpern, who is the mother of their 4-year-old son.

Peterson’s work as a director also includes videos for Vivian Girls, La Sera, and more. He produced Julia Holter’s “Everytime Boots,” and covered the U.S. presidential election as a cameraman for the BBC. Peterson was also a musician; he played in the bands Moog, Pong, and Cherubino, as LA Weekly points out.
