TV on the Radio and Thee Oh Sees Offer Collectibles in Benefit Auction

TV on the Radio and Thee Oh Sees are auctioning off collectibles to raise money for filmmaker Aaron Aites. Aites, who directed the 2009 black metal documentary Until the Light Takes Us, was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer. Auctions of various items from the bands will be available on eBay with 100% of the proceeds going to Aites’ care. TV on the Radio are auctioning various rare pieces of vinyl. John Dwyer will be auctioning a ’60s Harmony Stratotone that he used in Coachwhips, Hospitals, and the early days of Thee Oh Sees. “I am auctioning off this guitar to help a dear old friend pay for much needed care,” Dwyer said in a statement. “My friend Aaron Aites is very sick with cancer, he also has a GoFundMe page under his name if you are the donating type.” The guitar was broken over promotor Dan Burke’s head in Toronto (which you can watch happen here) and was repaired the following day. Though it still plays, it has been retired due to wear and tear.
