TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe Teams With Little Shalimar and Roxiny on "Phoenix"

Producer Little Shalimar has teamed up with TV on the Radio‘s Tunde Adebimpe and Roxiny for “Phoenix”, a track from the companion album for the film Rubble Kings. Listen to it above.

The album is out January 15 via Mass Appeal. It also features Run the Jewels (whose theme was previously shared), Bun B, Ghostface Killah, Mr Muthafuckin eXquire, Ka, Boldy James, and more.

The film chronicles life in the gang-ruled New York City of the late ’60s and ’70s and the rise of hip-hop culture. In a press release, Roxiny said of “Phoenix”: “The idea of the phoenix felt powerful to me—it’s a symbol of hope, rebirth, and survival; one that speaks to me personally. Most importantly, it’s a message I felt from all those who lived to tell their stories in Rubble Kings.”
