?uestlove is involved with the music for two new projects.

He’ll serve as the executive music producer on A&E’s forthcoming “Roots” mini-series, a remake of the landmark 1977 show based on Alex Haley’s 1976 novel about the life of an African man who’s sold into slavery, as Variety points out. The eight-hour series is set to air next year.

Additionally, ?uestlove and the Roots‘ Black Thought will executive produce the original Broadway cast recording for “Hamilton”, a new musical about the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton. Lin Manuel Miranda wrote the book, music, and lyrics for the show, and also plays the title role.

“Hamilton” opens on Broadway on August 6, while the soundtrack will be available this fall. “Ten minutes into ‘Hamilton,’ though, I was just so stunned,” ?uestlove said in a press release. “It was such a sucker punch.”
