Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Shares New Song “Gwan,” Plus New Hamilton Leithauser Collab: Listen

Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij made an appearance yesterday on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. He premiered a couple of new tracks, including a solo number, “Gwan” (12 minutes in) and another from his new project with the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser (31:13). (Their debut LP I Had a Dream That You Were Mine comes out September 23.) Listen below.

Rostam also spoke about his future with Vampire Weekend: “There are no clear lines drawn about what the future holds,” he said. “For me, it meant [being] open to doing stuff with Vampire Weekend, open to doing stuff on my own, to doing stuff with other people. I can’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen in the future, and for me, that’s something that felt necessary to do.”

On August 20 at the Broad, Rostam will perform his first West Coast solo show.
