Vangelis Announces 13-Album Box Set Delectus

Composer Vangelis—who scored the films Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire—has announced a 13-album box set called Delectus. It’s out February 3 via UMC/Polydor, and it features many of his most well-known projects. Along with Chariots of Fire, there are remastered versions of Earth, L’Apocalypse Des Animaux, China, See You Later, Antarctica, Mask, Opera SauvageSoil Festivities and Invisible Connections. It also includes collaborations with Yes’ Jon Anderson (as Jon and Vangelis): Short Stories, The Friends of Mister Cairo, and Private Collection. Vangelis personally oversaw the remastering. The box set also adds several unreleased tracks and other rare B-sides. Find the full tracklisting and other info about the box set here.

“I always welcome remastering my old work, for two basic reasons,” Vangelis told FACT. “Firstly, I get the opportunity to bring the sounds to today’s standards. Secondly, it gives me the chance to go through the experiences and memories of the time.”

Last year, Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA revealed that Vangelis was the very rare collaborator on his upcoming album Dark Matter. It is Vangelis’ first collaboration with a rapper.
