Watch Aphex Twin’s First U.S. Performance in 8 Years

Aphex Twin performed in the United States tonight for the first time in eight years. He played at Day for Night Festival in Houston—a bill that also featured Björk, Travis Scott, Run the Jewels, the Jesus and Mary Chain, and others. In addition to selling a mysterious new record at the merch table, Richard D. James performed a set backed by a crazy light show. Watch clips from the performance below.

It was recently revealed that Aphex Twin designed a series of presets for the new Korg Monologue synthesizer. His video for “CIRKLON3 [Колхозная mix],” created by young fan Ryan Wyer, was included on our list of the best music videos of 2016
