On Friday, Bon Iver released their excellent new album, 22, A Million. Earlier in the week, Justin Vernon played a surprise show in Berlin. He’s in the city for a massive event that he organized along with the National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner, Gayngs’ Ryan Olson, director Vincent Moon, conductor André De Ridder, Brandon Reid, and the Michelberger Hotel. During the event, dozens of artists descended upon the Funkhaus studio spaces for collaborations, workshops, and more. (Vernon notably participated in a live techno set.)
Vernon and the rest of his band also performed a full set, including some songs with the Cantus Domus choir from Germany. They performed “8 (circle)” together. Watch footage from that, as well as some videos taken during the preparations leading up to the two-day event below.
