Watch Bruce Springsteen Visit Childhood Haunts, Talk New Memoir on “CBS Sunday Morning”

Bruce Springsteen’s new autobiography Born to Run is out September 27. Today, on “CBS Sunday Morning,” the Boss talked to Anthony Mason about his book, which is accompanied by an album featuring unreleased tracks called Chapter and Verse. Springsteen talked about his start in the music business, making the album Born to Run, his struggle with depression, his relationship with his father, the death of Clarence Clemons, playing long concerts, and more. The two also visit notable spots from his childhood in Freehold, New Jersey, including his school, church, and family’s homes. When asked how he did in school, Bruce replied, “Not particularly well, you know.” Watch the segment below.

It was a busy day for Mason on “Sunday Morning”—he also sat down with two other music icons, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The two Beatles, plus director Ron Howard, were promoting the documentary The Beatles: Eight Days a Week. They talked about what it was like to be touring musicians and why they eventually stopped playing shows. Find that segment below, as well.

Springsteen recently announced a book tour behind his new memoir. Find those dates here.
