Watch Carrie Brownstein and Aziz Ansari on “Fallon”

Last night, Carrie Brownstein and Aziz Ansari made appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” During her segment, Brownstein spoke with Fallon about Sleater-Kinney’s forthcoming record Live in Paris, as well as the seventh season of “Portlandia.” She also revealed that she learned sign language as a kid while watching soap operas. Fallon later praised Sleater-Kinney’s No Cities to Love.

In his interview with Fallon, Ansari joked about being Donald Trump’s “favorite comedian.” In reality, he said he’s “been around” Trump only once; it happened after Trump hosted “Saturday Night Live.” Elsewhere in the episode, Ansari and Fallon dramatically read Yelp reviews. Watch Brownstein and Ansari’s “Fallon” segments below.

This past June, Aziz Ansari wrote a New York Times op-ed called “Why Trump Makes Me Scared for My Family.” In an August appearance on “Fallon,” Ansari discussed Trump’s feud with the family of Capt. Humayun Khan (who died fighting for the U.S. Army in Iraq in 2004). Tomorrow night (January 21), Ansari hosts “Saturday Night Live.” Revisit our interview with him about the music on his critically acclaimed show “Master of None.”

Carrie Brownstein is featured on a new protest album called Battle Hymns. She contributed a new song with Katie Harkin (as the duo MEDS). Stephen Malkmus, Mary Timony, and others are included on the record. Read “Sleater-Kinney: A Certain Rebellion.”
