Watch Father John Misty Debut Three New Pure Comedy Songs Live
Father John Misty is set to release his new album Pure Comedy on April 7 (via Sub Pop/Bella Union). Earlier this week, he kicked off his European tour in support of the album. Below, watch him perform stripped-back renditions of “A Bigger Paper Bag,” “Birdie,” and “Smoochie” at stops in Paris and Amsterdam. In an interview with Paste Magazine, Josh Tillman hinted that his tour for Pure Comedy would be akin to a musical, featuring dancers, dialogue, and costumes. Previously, Tillman shared the songs “Ballad of the Dying Man,” “Two Wildly Different Perspectives,” “Total Entertainment Forever,” and “Leaving LA.”
