Watch FKA twigs’ New Baltimore Dance Project Documentary

Back in July, FKA twigs hosted a free dance workshop  in Baltimore alongside her team of choreographers and dancers. It was an open invite to anyone over 18, and select participants were invited to dance with twigs at her Baltimore show. The whole thing was filmed for a new documentary presented by WeTransfer. Watch Baltimore Dance Project here.

“This is a safe place, no matter what your ability is or your age,” twigs says during the workshop. “Nobody cares whether you get routines right or wrong, whether your favorite move goes to plan or it doesn’t. … In the world, especially at the moment, there’s so much tension, so much angst, and so much misunderstanding. I just believe through music and art and being creative and expressing ourselves as young people, it’s really important that we’re able to break those barriers, because we’re going to be the next people making this world a safe place. When things are difficult, art always flourishes.”
