Watch Gary Oldman, La Roux, More Cover Bowie at Birthday Tribute Concert

Yesterday would have been David Bowie’s 70th birthday. To mark the occasion, his collaborators and friends performed at the first in a series of “Celebrating David Bowie” tribute concerts. Actor Gary Oldman hosted the event, which took place at London’s O2 Brixton Academy. Below, see Oldman, La Roux, Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, Mr Hudson, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and more cover Bowie (via NME).

The next Bowie tribute concert takes place in New York on January 10—the anniversary of his death. The event will “aid local charities,” and features “a core two dozen musicians traveling plus many local, regional, and national musicians.” The following shows take place in Los Angeles (January 25), Sydney, Australia (January 29), and Tokyo (February 2).
