Watch Koko the Gorilla Play Flea’s Bass
It’s been a big year for Flea, who performed a national anthem bass solo at Kobe Bryant’s last game and put out a new Red Hot Chili Peppers album. Recently, he visited Koko the gorilla, who took a turn playing his bass. In the footage below (via CoS), Koko strums, twists knobs, and explores the instrument while Flea offers words of encouragement. “This is the greatest thing that could ever happen,” he says. “This is the day I’ll never forget in my life.” At the end of one clip, he makes it clear that Koko can keep the bass. Remember Koko—practice makes perfect.
