Watch Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Bush, More Pay Tribute to Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell

Last night, several bands used their sets at Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH to pay homage to Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell. Live covered Audioslave’s “I Am the Highway,” Bush played Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” and Corey Taylor (of Slipknot and Stone Sour) performed Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike.” After the tribute, Rock on the Range screened a tribute video featuring Cornell’s isolated vocals. Find the footage below. Soundgarden were originally slated to perform at the festival’s opening night as part of their current tour, but have since canceled all remaining dates in the wake of their frontman’s unexpected death at age 52. Since news of his passing, Megadeth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Stone Sour have also performed tributes to Cornell at their respective shows. Cornell’s death was ruled a suicide by the Wayne County Medical Examiner, but his family have questioned the veracity of that decision.
