Watch Stephen Colbert Mock Ticketmaster Lawsuit Ticket Giveaway

Earlier this week, Ticketmaster revealed the shows for which the company is giving away free or discounted tickets, as a result of a class-action lawsuit. Among the acts playing concerts with free tickets, discounted tickets, and discounted shipping are Bob Dylan, Modest Mouse, Kurt Vile, and the Cure, and many more. Given the number of eligible shows, however, some will be less sought after than others. In his opening monologue to last night’s episode of “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert lampooned Ticketmaster for those less desirable tickets that the company is giving away.

Colbert joked, “Ticketmaster just unveiled the list of available concerts, and it’s a who’s who of definitely not the Who,” He cites some shows for Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, and Guns N’ Roses cover bands, and says, “What gives, Ticketmaster? If I want to see a lame Guns N’ Roses cover band, I’ll go and see Guns N’ Roses!” He also came up with some fictional cover acts (like “Weird Al” Yankovic cover artist “Absurd Philip” Moscowitz), and sang some Smash Mouth songs and a GNR parody.
