Earlier this summer, Andrew Bird began a series called “Live From the Great Room,” where musicians join him in his home to perform an acoustic set. Past guests include John C. Reilly, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, and more. On today’s episode, Bird invited the National’s Matt Berninger over for a session. They opened with Trouble Will Find Me highlight “Pink Rabbits.” The two then performed Bird’s “Heretics,” “Left Handed Kisses” (originally a Bird duet with Fiona Apple), and Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day.” As usual, neither performer wore shoes (although Berninger had socks on).
