Watch Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) Debut New Music in Miami

Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) premiered new music last night during a set at Boiler Room and Saul Williams’ “In Appreciation of Lyricism” event in Miami, as Pigeons & Planes points out. Other artists performing included Allan Kingdom and Beyoncé collaborator Melo-X. In November, Bey announced a new album with Ferrari Sheppard as Dec. 99th. In a recent interview on WNL Radio during Art Basel, the rapper also revealed that he has two additional albums on the way: Negus in Natural Person and As Promised with Mannie Fresh. According to Okayplayer, Bey will be performing those two albums at his upcoming New York show at the Apollo Theater.
