Watch Zach Galifianakis Joke With Andrew Bird in New Live Video

Zach Galifianakis joined Andrew Bird today for the latest episode of “Live From the Great Room,” Bird’s recurring Facebook Live series. After a brief musical intro, the two spend the bulk of the episode chatting. They discuss “Baskets” (Galifianakis’ FX show, which features a Bird-written theme song), Cracker Barrel, “Between Two Ferns,” and more. At one point, Bird says, “Sometimes I’m like, I wish someone would lock me in a room and stand outside with a gun and say, Don’t come out until you write something, ’cause then I’d write a lot more.” Galifianakis responds, “I’ve got my gun in the car.” After a long pause he offers, “It’s a .410. It’s not very powerful.” Galifianakis also accompanies Bird on piano to play “Lull” (from 2003’s Weather Systems). Watch the new “Live From the Great Room” episode below.

Previous guests on “Live From the Great Room” include Fiona Apple, Esperanza Spalding, the National’s Matt BerningerJohn C. Reilly, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, the Lumineers, Dawes, and Nico Segal.

Galifianakis is among the many artists contributing to the new 7-inches for Planned Parenthood box set. He appeared alongside St. Vincent and John Legend in a trailer for the project.
