Weezer’s New Pinkerton Reissue Comes with a Sake Cocktail Recipe

Weezer‘s classic album Pinkerton is getting reissued again. The latest edition of their 1996 opus is being reissued via the subscription service Vinyl Me, Please. (Those who haven’t registered with the service can get the record if they sign up by May 15.) It’s pressed on “dark blue translucent vinyl with black marbling,” and comes housed in a custom sleeve with pop-out art. The package also features a 12″ print from Japanese painter Fuco Ueda, a custom lyric sheet, and—wait for it—a Pinkerton-inspired sake cocktail recipe. Check out photos of the new reissue and Ueda’s art print below, plus an unboxing video. 

Weezer gave Pinkerton a deluxe reissue in 2010. The following year, Rivers Cuomo released a compilation of demos from that era, along with The Pinkerton Diaries, a book of journals, essays, and other ephemera associated with the landmark album. The group’s latest effort, Weezer (White Album), is out now.
