Wilco Share List of Favorite Recent Albums

Wilco just surprise-released their new album Star Wars for free. In an email to everyone who downloaded the album, they acknowledged that not every band or label are in the financial position to release a free album. “Much of the ‘music business’ relies on physical sales to keep the lights on and the mics up,” they wrote. To help support some of their favorite artists, they made a list of their 17 favorite recent albums and encouraged their fans to go out and buy them.

“There’s a lot of great music out there, let’s all try to support it,” they wrote. “After all, it’s the years of support (and purchases) of Wilco’s music that allowed us to do what we did last week.”
