Wild Self Short Documentary Explores a Moscow Punk Festival

Pitchfork.tv is pleased to premiere a new short documentary on Troyka Fest, a punk festival held in a remote power plant on the outskirts of Moscow. Wild Self, directed and produced by Scott Wynn and Jake Denney of House of Guvera, combines footage of live performances (from Jars, Hellspin, and more) with glimpses of the festival’s 1,500 attendees and interviews with the organizers. Watch it below.

“By doing this festival, we prove that everyone has some wild self inside,” say the organizers in the film. “[It's] for people to understand that they’re not what they look like in their everyday life – they are much worse.”
