YG and 4Hunnid Records Sign Multi-Million Dollar Interscope Deal: Report

YG and his 4Hunnid Records imprint have signed a multi-million dollar joint venture with Interscope, Billboard reports. The rapper, who serves as the label’s CEO, says that he and the label’s president Brandon Moore signed a deal for an undisclosed amount. 4Hunnid Records launched last year. The label is still working out its signees.

YG told Billboard that talks for the deal with Interscope Geffen A&M president of urban music Joie Manda started after the breakout success of YG’s debut album My Krazy Life. “After the album came out and had its success, Joie was really behind our whole movement and everything we had going on,” YG said. “He felt like I could have my own label and do the same things that we did for ourselves and other artists.” Read YG’s full interview with Billboard about the deal.

“YG has an unbelievable eye for talent and an innate understanding of what people want to hear,” Interscope Geffen A&M chairman and CEO John Janick told Billboard. “His career as an artist proves that. I know 4Hunnid and Interscope will do great things together.”
