Lil B, DOOM, GZA Get Marvel Comic Book C...

Last month, Marvel Comics announced they would pay homage to hip-hop through a series of variant covers inspired by classic and contemporary hip-hop albums. Today, they revealed a handful of covers inspired by Lil B‘s Black Flame, DOOM and Madlib‘s Madvillainy, and GZA‘s Liquid Swords, as Billboard reports. That’s Thor, above, in the style of Madvillainy; below, Hercules gets the Lil B treatment, while GZA is used for the Contest of Champions. The GZA-inspired cover goes on sale in October, while Lil B and DOOM/Madlib can be had in November....

Teklife to Launch Label With Compilation...

Footwork crew Teklife will launch their own label with a 15-track compilation this November, Fact reports. In a statement released via the Teklife mailing list, they announced “a compilation of 15 trax including DJ Rashad – DJ Spinn – DJ Earl – DJ TAYE – TASO – and pretty much everybody from the crew.” It’ll be available digitally, with a vinyl release to follow if there’s demand.
