Father John Misty Selling “Why God Why” T-Shirts

Father John Misty has some new merchandise to accompany his new album, Pure Comedy (out April 7 via Sub Pop/Bella Union). One item, in particular stands out: a unisex t-shirt that says “Why God Why” in all caps. The shirt is quite possibly in reference to FJM’s reaction to finding out his music had been performed on “The Voice.” Other items feature the same imagery that’s on his Ed Steen-designed cover artwork. Find FJM’s Pure Comedy merch here.

The “Why God Why” shirt is not FJM’s first foray into interesting merchandise. Last year, he sold “Life Of Padre” clothing that was modeled after Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s designs for Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo merch.

Thus far, FJM has shared Pure Comedy’s title track, as well as “Ballad of the Dying Man,” “Two Wildly Different Perspectives,” and “Total Entertainment Forever.” Recently, he’s performed on “Saturday Night Live,” chatted with Elton John, answered fans’ questions on Twitter, and dropped a few “Generic Pop Songs.” Find FJM’s upcoming tour dates here.
