Billy Corgan is currently at work on a memoir. In December, he was interviewed in Chicago by author/television presenter Jennifer Weigel, where he revealed he’s written “about” a thousand pages of the book, as Alternative Nation reports (via Consequence of Sound). Below, you can watch a video of him talking about his progress, which he describes as “slow.”

The planned title of the book is God Is Everywhere, From Here to There, which is also the name of a website he used to operate. He said he’s changed the names of the book’s subjects, though it shouldn’t be difficult to figure out who’s who.

“I mean yes, the average person will be able to go, ‘Oh that’s so-and-so,’” he said. “But it’s not meant to be a clever legal device, it’s actually meant to get you out of what you think you know and take you hopefully into the very interpersonal experience of what I experienced. Which, I would argue, is mythology. Most of what I have experienced in my life isn’t real.”

In the same interview, Corgan also discussed having “no relationship” with former Smashing Pumpkins bandmates D’Arcy and James Iha, how Donald Trump is racistwhy he quit social media, and more.
