Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, the Strokes to Play Charity Basketball Game

Arcade Fire’s Win Butler has announced the latest “POP vs. Jock” charity basketball game, in collaboration with POP Montreal. Win has thrown the event several times in the past few years, inviting artists and athletes to lace up their sneakers and ball. This year’s edition includes Win and Will Butler, Chris Tomson of Vampire Weekend, Nikolai Fraiture of the Strokes, the actor Martin Starr (“Silicon Valley,” “Freaks and Geeks,”) the professional basketball playing brothers Matt and Luke Bonner, and more. The game will take place on September 24 at the McGill University Sports Center. 69 Boyz (of “Tootsee Roll” fame) will perform at halftime, and there will be a screening of Space Jam after the game. Proceeds will benefit DJ Sports Club. Find a flyer for the event below.

Earlier this year, Drake coached Win Butler to an MVP win at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Toronto.
