Shearwater Announce New Album Jet Plane and Oxbow, Share "Quiet Americans"

Shearwater‘s new album—the follow-up to 2012 studio album Animal Joy and 2013 covers comp Fellow Travelers—is called Jet Plane and Oxbow. It’s out January 22 via Sub Pop. Listen to “Quiet Americans” below.

The album was produced by Danny Reisch and features contributions from film composer Brian Reitzell, Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, drummer Cully Symington, Howard Draper, Lucas Oswald, Jesca Hoop, and Abram Shook.

Pre-orders of the album from the Sub Pop website will come with a podcast featuring demos, outtakes, and a conversation between frontman Jonathan Meiburg and WNYC’s John Schaefer.

The band have also announced a world tour in 2016—find those dates below the album’s tracklist.
